Validity (data quality)
The data quality dimension that measures whether values meet the format, range and rules defined for that data.
Validity checks that data has the right shape: a postcode in the expected format, a date that exists, a percentage between 0 and 100, a country from a closed list.
It is the easiest dimension to automate, because you only need to write the rule and check it on every load.
A valid value can still be false (a correctly formatted tax ID belonging to someone else); that is why validity is complemented by accuracy.
