Data quality threshold
The minimum acceptable level of a quality metric: below it, action is needed. It is set by whoever uses the data, not the technical team.
The threshold separates acceptable from unacceptable. For example: “at least 98% of customers with a valid email”.
There is no universal threshold. It depends on the use: data feeding an invoice or a high-risk AI model demands more than data used for an internal statistic.
Without an agreed threshold, a red indicator obliges nobody to act. That is why it should be set with the business owner and reviewed once a year.
