Completeness (data quality)
The data quality dimension that measures whether all the data that should be there is present: mandatory fields filled in and no missing records.
Completeness answers a simple question: is anything missing? It is measured as the percentage of records with their mandatory fields filled in, such as customers with an email or invoices with a tax ID.
It is the easiest dimension to measure and the most often ignored. A field that is 15% empty makes any analysis that depends on it unreliable.
Note: complete does not mean correct. An email can be filled in and still be fake; that is measured by accuracy or validity.
