Data skills
The specific capabilities a person needs to work with data in their role, from reading an indicator to defining quality rules.
Data skills are the practical side of data literacy: what each person needs to be able to do. They are usually grouped into four: reading, working with data, analysing and arguing with data.
Not every role needs the same level. A levels framework defines what is expected of all staff, managers, analysts and data owners.
To find out where each team stands, measure with a short survey of practical questions before designing training.
