European Artificial Intelligence Board (AI Board)
The body bringing together one representative from each Member State to coordinate consistent application of the AI Act across the EU.
The European Artificial Intelligence Board (Article 65) is made up of one representative per Member State; the European Data Protection Supervisor takes part as an observer and the AI Office acts as its secretariat.
Its job is to make sure the AI Act is applied the same way in every country: it advises the Commission, shares experience between national authorities, issues recommendations and opinions, contributes to guidelines and codes of practice, and coordinates market surveillance authorities.
It is supported by an advisory forum of businesses, civil society and academia, and a scientific panel of independent experts that can flag systemic risks from general-purpose models. For a company, its documents are a good indication of how authorities will interpret the regulation.
